Standing Lunge

Standing Lunge

Bib,

Just wanted to get your opinion of this position (Standing Lunge- with leading leg raised up on a chair) leaning forward, with bib hanger attached. I find that this stretch is as intense as hanging BTC. Would this be targeting the ligs specifically?

Cheers

Depending on individual LOT, it would target the ligs, at least for a while.

As I picture the angle, you are probably feeling a good bit of skin stretch that is not normally felt. Possibly some lig action also, that is not normally felt.

The question is, will that angle continue to deform the ligs. After the initial stretching, it probably will not, because the angle, as I picture it, is not as severe as BTC.

With BTC, the pelvis level or even tilted up, the ligs will always have stress on them, if the skin allows it.

I 've had good fatigue using a similar position, with no sense of skin stretching - only increased fatigue during and after the lunge.
While sitting I lunge forward as if touching my toes in an athletic stretch exercise. The position of the Bib line is parallel to the stretch.
Imagine three parallel lines: arms, legs & penis in bib hanging with weights attached.

I thought I discovered this technique until I read this post. I recently tried this and ‘MY GOSH’ it really pulled on the ligs; I thought I detached or tore something!

I’m new to hanging; has anyone posted before about body positioning while hanging SD? I’m thinking of lunges, squats, swinging back-n-forth. If so please direct me to proper link.

I cannot come up with any links, but I know that there are different guys that have tried different things, and posted about them.

Really, it is whatever gives you the best stretch. Everyone is different. So experimenting is the best course.

For me, I worked while hanging. So I did what I could while sitting the entire time. I did crunches, swinging, and bouncing, from BTC to SD.

Thanks Bigger,
Which activity (crunches, swinging, and bouncing) was most effective?
Time-wise how long did you do them per session?

Probably swinging side to side. But it is hard to say. Depends on what I needed at any one point in time.

>Time-wise how long did you do them per session?<

No idea. It depended on my level of fatigue...what I was feeling. If I need more fatigue during a set, I would move. Too much fatigue, I would stop.

Just like with anything in PE, there are no concrete norms. You must do what is right for you, at any one point in time.

Thanks Bigger,
I’ve studied up on PE in general since March and comprehend what I read but the practical application of it is quite a bit different. I spend a great deal of time reading and searching for information before I post a question but sometimes I can’t find an answer. So, please, overlook my ignorance and lack of experience if my questions already have answers someplace or seem redundant.

Thanks

angus,

No worries. If you cannot find something, just ask. No guarantees about the quality of my answers though.
